Hello, I’m John Conlin, President and Founder of E.I.C. Enterprises.
At E.I.C. our goals are large and our vision is all-encompassing. We truly plan to change the world. And the way to change the world is to change how people think and perceive things. And the best way to affect how people think and perceive things is to teach them; thus the schools of E.I.C. Enterprises.
I believe society is in the process of a profound paradigm shift and that many of the problems and issues of today are the result of this friction. The friction between facts and truth and what has been believed in the past. This friction has already been addressed in the hard sciences; long ago we threw out the ideas of alchemy. Long ago we threw out the ideas of magic. But this has not occurred in what are generally known of as the soft sciences. There is a reason for this; we simply didn’t have the facts, we didn’t know the factual truth. It wasn’t that long ago that the first dinosaur bones were discovered. Even today the concept of human nature generates incredibly strong responses. The culture wars, our failing public education system, government failure, the spiritual emptiness that far too many people experience, are all symptoms of this paradigm shift – I really hate that term but that is what this is.
What I propose is both quite simple and quite profound. On the simple side, my proposal is that since it has been proven beyond any reasonable doubt that we, good old human beings, evolved on this planet we should re-examine all of our beliefs to ensure they do not contradict with physical realities. Especially since almost all of these beliefs were formed when no one truly had any idea how we came about; we could be little gods or completely plastic and moldable animals, or glorified slugs or anything in between.
On the profound side, this process forces one to discard many cherished and deeply held beliefs as it leads you to at least the general truth about almost everything; from politics to economics to raising kids to being happy and even to God. Physicists are searching for the unified theory, the final theory that combines all of the forces of matter. In many ways what I am proposing is like a unified theory of life – it includes the hard sciences but also everything else.
In discussing the American Revolution, Thomas Jefferson noted:
“I am certainly not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and constitutions. But laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors.”
This is where we are right now. The present coat is getting a little tight and it’s time for a change. Look at our political and legal institutions, education, religious institutions; they are broken and there are reasons why they are broken. Look at the people around you; how many are lost souls? How many are confused? Shakespeare wrote that there is a ripeness to the moment. It is time to accept the truth about ourselves and to use this truth as a gift, not something from which to hide. And this is not just an American issue; it is a world-wide movement that will only gain speed as the modern world spreads throughout the globe.
And of course any unified theory about everything must at some level include religion/spirituality/God. It is impossible for it not too. Thus, once you begin this journey you will discover that your religious/spiritual beliefs, whatever they are, cannot exist as they have in the past without contradicting other truths. The essence of change is just that, to change.
I don’t really claim to have discovered anything new. I’m simply re-framing what has been known in the past and presenting it as a coherent whole (at least that’s my goal!)
Of course this is all rather grandiose; but so what? Why me? Why not? I don’t claim any moral superiority in this process. If you treat whatever spirituality that exists (it is what it is) as a real physical, scientific thing, you quickly discover that you don’t need to be a messiah to discuss it. But as the X-Files would say; the truth is out there. We can discover it and help ensure our survival and happiness or we can ignore it at our own individual and collective peril.
I choose instead that we follow the truth wherever it may lead. And I believe our best understand of this truth should be taught to all children throughout the world, thus the schools of E.I.C. Enterprises.
Put your present ideas aside in a mental box and come with me on a journey. Start with a clean mental slate. You may be amazed at where it leads and you may be amazed at the impact on yours and your loved one’s lives.
